IET comments on new business guidance to boost skills and unlock benefits of AI

Commenting draft guidance, IET Head of Policy, Stephanie Baxter, said:

“Since the launch of our digital skills survey earlier this year, the IET has stressed the importance of reskilling and upskilling the existing workforce to harness AI and new technologies so that businesses can adapt and innovate in a responsible and informed way.

“We are delighted to see the Government’s commitment to support this through the publishing today of draft guidance for businesses. This is a pivotal step forward to harnessing the potential of AI and new technologies across all parts of the workforce. The next step is to build on the funding package announced with a focus on reskilling in later careers, for example through flexibility in the apprenticeship levy to fund bespoke short courses (microcredentials).”
